Most household paper shredders cannot. Corrugated cardboard is thick and fibrous, and it jams or burns out motors built for office paper. The Cardboard Cruncher is purpose-built for corrugated board, so it handles boxes a paper shredder cannot.

The compact Cardboard Cruncher, the Lux, and the Pro Standard plug into a standard 110V outlet. Only the Pro Heavy needs a 220V plug for its larger motor.
