How many models of the Cardboard Cruncher are there?+
Four models across three sizes: CBC Lux, CBC Mini, CBC Pro Standard, and CBC Pro Heavy. Each shreds cardboard into material ready for recycling and composting.
Which cardboard shredder should I choose?+
Choose CBC Mini for apartments, pantries, and compact spaces; CBC Lux for estates and multi-family properties; CBC Pro Standard for most commercial back-of-house use; and CBC Pro Heavy for warehouses and high-volume retail.
What can I do with the shredded cardboard?+
Shredded cardboard can go straight into your recycling stream, a compost pile or bin as carbon-rich 'browns', or be used as garden mulch and packaging filler.
Is cardboard good for compost?+
Yes. Plain corrugated cardboard is a carbon-rich brown material. Shredding it increases surface area so it breaks down far faster, balances nitrogen-rich food scraps, and helps build healthy soil.
Can a paper shredder shred cardboard?+
Most household paper shredders cannot. Corrugated cardboard is thick and fibrous, and it jams or burns out motors built for office paper. The Cardboard Cruncher is purpose-built for corrugated board, so it handles boxes a paper shredder cannot.
How do you shred cardboard without a shredder?+
By hand you can score, tear, or cut boxes into strips with a utility knife, which is slow and inconsistent. A dedicated cardboard shredder produces small, uniform pieces in seconds, which is what makes the output usable for recycling, compost, or mulch.
Do these machines need special electrical work?+
CBC Lux, Mini, and Pro Standard plug into a standard 110V outlet. Only CBC Pro Heavy requires a 220V plug for its larger motor.
